Dubai flight cancellations continue to affect international travel, with several major airlines extending service suspensions, revising schedules and announcing new resumption dates. While some carriers are preparing to restart Dubai flights from late October and November 2026, others have postponed services until 2027.
Emirates, flydubai, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia have also been affected by fresh flight disruptions to Saudi Arabia following regional security incidents and restrictions at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.
Below is the latest airline-wise update on Dubai flight cancellations, suspended routes and expected resumption dates.

Emirates and flydubai have reported cancellations on selected routes between Dubai and Saudi Arabia following security incidents affecting Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.
Emirates services to Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah have experienced disruptions, while flydubai has extended cancellations on flights to Riyadh, Dammam and Abha through 14 October.
Passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia are advised to check their flight status before departing for the airport.
Etihad Airways and Air Arabia report disruptions
Etihad Airways has also been affected by the regional disruptions, with services between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh suspended and selected flights to Dammam and Jeddah cancelled.
Air Arabia has reported cancellations affecting selected Sharjah services to Riyadh, Abha, Gassim and Taif.
Riyadh Airport closure extended until 17 October
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh is expected to remain closed until 17 October 2026 following missile and drone attacks.
The closure has affected several regional and international airlines, including Emirates, flydubai, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa and Indian carriers.
Qatar Airways suspends Riyadh and Dammam flights
Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended services to Riyadh and Dammam following the latest security incidents. The airline has not announced a confirmed resumption date for the affected services.
Cathay Pacific extends Dubai suspension until January 2027
Cathay Pacific has extended its suspension of Hong Kong–Dubai flights until 31 January 2027. The airline has also postponed the resumption of services to Riyadh.
British Airways plans Dubai return in November
British Airways is scheduled to resume flights between London Heathrow and Dubai on 3 November 2026, later than the previously announced October restart.
Air Canada and United Airlines delay Dubai flights until 2027
Air Canada has extended the suspension of its Toronto–Dubai services until March 2027.
United Airlines has also postponed the return of its nonstop Newark–Dubai route until March 2027, with affected passengers eligible for refunds according to the airline’s cancellation policy.

These regional cancellations do not necessarily affect each airline’s Dubai operations.
Are Dubai Airports Operating Normally?
Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) continue operating, with no general airport-wide closure announced in the latest reports reviewed.
However, passengers may experience individual flight cancellations, delays and route changes because of regional airspace restrictions and airline schedule adjustments.
Travellers are advised to confirm their flight status directly with the airline before travelling to the airport.

Passenger Services & Facilities
If you are traveling through DXB, the following terminal amenities are currently active:
- Lounges: You can access the Ahlan Lounges in Concourses A, B, and C. Additionally, both Plaza Premium and Marhaba lounges are open to guests.
- Ahlan First Class Lounge at Terminal 1 is temporarily not operational. Guests may alternatively book the Business Class Lounge, which remains fully operational.
- Meet & Assist: Ahlan services remain available across all terminals to help navigate the airport.
- Shower Facility: Shower alone facilities are operational in Concourse A and Concourse B. (Complimentary for Ahlan Lounge guests).
- Health Club: The DXB Health Club (gym, pool, jacuzzi and steam room) located in Concourse B has re-opened on 20th May 2026, after a temporary closure.
- Hotel & Beauty: The Dubai International Hotel remains fully operational for transit travelers, and the Timeless Salon in Concourse A is open for bookings.
Airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi remain open, but travellers should be prepared for possible flight delays, cancellations and rerouting as airlines continue to adjust schedules in response to regional airspace restrictions and operational disruptions.
